Erin Sommerville. How do I love her? Let me count the ways.

I first met Erin at a Simonton Cancer Center session. It was prior to my surgery for lung cancer. I previously had had cancer in both breasts. She prepared me for the surgery. Oh, yes. My room looked like I was having a party. It was decorated with flowers, plants, a cookie tree, and pictures of our dogs. My son remarked that as he walked through the halls of the hospital, all the rooms looked gloomy, as did the patients. When he came to my room, it was bright and cheery. It helped my family cope and it certainly made me feel better.

Erin is so insightful. I now have had hundreds of phone calls with her and each time she shows me how to make my life better. All the old bad habits and thoughts are gone. If I start to stray, she knows exactly how to get me back on track. I have such power over my body now. Cancer is a thing of the past, but surprisingly it has brought me a lot of joy and peace in my life ...and Erin to help me keep it that way.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of why I love her and what she has done to change my life.

Erin has a gift of insight on a level that is nothing short of amazing.

She listens and truly hears what you are saying, processes that information in milliseconds. Her response invariably goes right to the heart of the question. It then becomes clear what needs to be done. As a professional interrogator she amazes me with both her insight and empathy.

Just before I met you, I had fallen off a cliff and I thought I was falling to my death. You stepped in, told me I could fly and then showed me how. And now, you,re even showing me how to fly even higher. That,s really the only way I can fittingly express what you did for me. By the way, it turns out that this flying thing is more than just a way to avoid hitting the ground ^ it,s $#!* fun and the view is incredible.

Erin came just in time at the lowest point of my life: Stage IV cancer. She supported me when no one could. Her most important contribution has been to help me learn my life's meaning and guide me to reach new and different goals. It has now been six years. Her experience, patience, grace and love have been invaluable in helping me live a joyful life which might otherwise have been lost.
